Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear for my physiotherapy appointment?
Loose fitting clothing is suitable for wearing to your physiotherapy appointment. We need to be able to see the body part that we are assessing.
If you are attending for assessment of your lower limbs or back it is recommended to bring a pair of shorts with you or with upper limb or neck assessments a strappy top may be suitable.
Does my Health Insurance cover me for Physiotherapy?
All major Health Insurance companies provide cover for physiotherapy treatment provided by a private Chartered Physiotherapist registered with the Health Care Professions Council.
However, cover is dependent on your individual insurance plan. Check your individual policy information to find out what is included in your cover. Strive clinic is not registered with any Insurance company but receipts for treatment can be provided for insurance claims.
Will I be actively involved in the treatment?
Yes, you will be advised of things you can do yourself to manage your condition at home. This could include modifying activities, changing activity levels, use of modalities like heat/cold and regular home exercises.
How many physiotherapy sessions will I need?
The number of sessions you will require depends on the problem we are treating you for. Most people will only need 2-3 sessions, some people with more longer term problems or complex injuries may require up to 6-8 sessions.
This will all be discussed with you at your initial appointment so you can know what to expect in your treatment plan. If you are making no improvement at all after your sessions we can liaise with your GP or Consultant to request further investigation if it is needed.
Can I book evening physiotherapy appointments?
Yes, we offer flexible appointment times and will do our best to offer you an appointment that is most convenient for you including evening appointments.
